Youth Activities for this year (2008)
Quiz Night.
Quiz night in April, which was a night of family fun with food provided. This was at the Hylands hotel and the Mahilas helped by providing the catering. A Good Night for all.
Sport Relief Mile.
We had up to 40 people ranging from a 7 year old to 50 plus and all enjoyed the day even though it was wet. Many did more than the mile . Money was raised by most of the participants , which all went to sport relief. The whole group had a photo taken with the Lord mayor of Coventry. Some of our Samaj members were also marshals on the day.
Draycote waters charity walk.
This event was organized by the Coventry SPA youth at Draycote Waters near Rugby. It was in aid of the School for deaf and dumb children in Navsari and the Eye Camp organized by the Bharat Welfare trust. We were very lucky as the weather turned out to be excellent and about 60 participants took part. This was not just a walk, but some of the younger members went around on their bikes. We would like to thank Rugby branch who also came and supported us on our event.
Due to the weather being good most of the participants and families joined in with a relaxing afternoon picnic and BBQ. The youth team also organized some family games which most took part in and enjoyed. We are hoping to do more charity events throughout this year and hope more members will support us.
We raised £250 on the day and we are still working towards our goal to raise £1000 for the designated charities.
